For laid-off Stimson workers, options in Bonner, MT

Dan Siefke was in his 40s when he retired from the military and went to work driving forklifts and sanders for Stimson Lumber Co.

He expected the job to carry him through the next 15 to 20 years, until he reached retirement age.

“It was my last career, I was hoping,” Siefke said. “But it didn’t turn out.”
