Crow leader, Carl Venne saw tribe’s future in education

Before Carl Venne was elected chairman of the Crow Tribe http://www.crowtribe.com/ in 2002, he was a student retention counselor at Little Big Horn Community College http://www.lbhc.edu/.
As leader of the tribe, Chairman Venne was a strong proponent of education. He encouraged Crow children to complete high school and earn college degrees, including graduate degrees. He believed in the importance of knowing his people’s history and culture as he sought to have tribal members help themselves and determine their own future.
