High-quality fluorine gas is used to make high-speed silicon chips and microprocessors, and the gas must be purified before it can be used in the high-tech manufacturing. Laflin said he´s found a way to skip a step in the purification process. The company hopes to have its first product qualification samples out before the year´s end.

Although it is a new product line for the company, Laflin said International Isotopes is in an advantaged position to pursue market share.
