Empowering Montana teachers: Conference aims to foster the next generations of engineers

The first time, the motor didn’t last long enough, so the teachers had to rethink their design.

The team of three educators was tasked with constructing a boat that could hold 2.5 pounds and travel 20 feet in less than two minutes under power of a hydrogen fuel cell.

The three teachers made up one team of a dozen that spent the weekend at the Montana Learning Center at Canyon Ferry Lake. For three days, 28 teachers from around Montana learned and applied the engineering process. Now that they’ve left, the idea is for them to pass that knowledge on to students.
