Afterschool Progress Report and Consumer Guide: Afterschool participation is on the decline in Montana

Afterschool participation is on the decline in Montana while the incidence of self-care is on the rise. Furthermore, Montana’s statewide afterschool network is no longer in operation and the need for afterschool programs is slipping off the radar for state policy makers and leaders. Children and families in Montana could greatly benefit from rededicating resources and attention to ensure that K-12 youth have greater access to quality afterschool options.
