Montana Career Opportunity – Executive Director – Outdoor Writers Association of America

A Missoula-based national nonprofit writers association seeks experienced Executive Director to manage & direct the day-to-day affairs of a professional organization & to implement established policies.

Will hire, train & supervise staff & contractors to serve the needs of the membership; oversee all functions of headquarters business; develop strong, positive working relationships; foster environment of inclusion & fairness in the activities of membership; counsel members on settling complaints/disputes with employers & media markets; advise on business questions, problems, policies & ethical considerations; intercede as needed; implement board policies; plan annual budget; present budget for board approval; provide forecasts/ analyses of programs & fiscal health; give financial reports; control expenses; suggest ways to boost revenues & streamline costs; invest assets; oversee staff production & content of print & on line publications; obtain & evaluate bids for annual conference; direct staff planning annual conference; prepare agendas for meetings; support & assist members; serve as a liaison & key contact; serve as a key spokesperson for organization; develop clear understanding of outdoor media; membership recruitment.

Grant writing preferred. Bachelor’s in Management or similar experience/education. Mon-Fri. Competitive salary/benefits.
