The students were competing in the 32nd annual John Ruffatto Business Startup Challenge, which was held Friday, Oct. 8, in Missoula. Competing teams pitched their best business ideas to a panel of judges for a share of awards and funding.
“It’s amazing how much governance has changed,” said Wharton finance professor Luke Taylor. “My view is that companies should not be maximizing shareholder value. Instead, they should be maximizing shareholder welfare. There’s a difference there because shareholders may care about more than just profits.”
“In 10 years, the efficiencies of perovskites have skyrocketed from about 3% to over 25%,” Mohite says. “Other semiconductors have taken about 60 years to get there. That’s why we’re so excited.”
