Yellowstone National Park moves forward in upgrading telecommunication system

Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone

Wireless infrastructure company Diamond Communications will install 187 miles of fiber-optic cable.

It could take roughly three years for the installation to be complete. Diamond Communications will pay for the construction costs.

Only 8% of the park is covered with cell service right now, and park officials say that won’t change when fiber-optic is added.
