Wyoming Events Promote Manufacturing, Workforce Development

Cheyenne-based Puma Steel and the American Institute of Steel Construction will kick off statewide Manufacturing Day celebrations and events with the annual Steel Day and welding scholarships competition on Sept. 24.

 

Wyoming’s Steel Day has grown from competition for welding scholarships to Laramie County Community College (LCCC) between juniors and seniors from Cheyenne’s three high schools to students from across the state and region. A total of $20,000 in scholarships are available to the top 15 competitors this year.
