With opening of The Post, upscale meeting space a growing industry in Billings

Those searching for a smallish event venue are no longer limited to the wood-paneled community center, the church basement, or the smoke-stained fraternal lodge.

A cottage industry of chic general-purpose event spaces has recently grown in Billings. Though they differ slightly in their target market, these short-term rentals are smaller and cheaper than a large ballroom and, thus more open to a more diverse set of clients.

The newest example opened in downtown Billings in September. Dubbed The Post https://www.billingsdepot.org/ , the venue is a smaller space run by the Billings Depot folks and marketed toward pop-up and temporary retail.
