Travel Dorsey eUpdate – Ban for 19 Countries is Now in Effect; More Countries May Be Added to the List

On June 9, 2025, a travel ban restricting certain visa issuance to foreign nationals of 19 countries took effect. As many as 36 more countries, most of which are in Africa, may be added to the travel ban list unless they improve on certain benchmarks.  There are exceptions to the travel ban. However, even with these exceptions, the travel ban is likely to have an impact on organizations that rely on talent mobility and cross-border collaboration.
