The Producer Partnership – Win-Win-Win for Montana’s Ranchers, Schools and Nonprofits

The Producer Partnership was founded in 2020 because of neighbors looking to help each other during COVID. The simple idea of donating local protein, has resulted in the first USDA federally inspected, nonprofit owned and operated processing facility in the United States. In recognition of National Nonprofit Day, we would like to highlight several key impacts our organization has achieved this year.
- Over 27,500 pounds of donated livestock has been processed at no charge into top-quality protein and delivered for school meal programs across the state. This results in cost savings to school budgets of approximately $180,000.
- Over 2,900 pounds of donated livestock has been processed at no charge into top-quality protein and delivered to senior centers and Meals on Wheels programs across the state. This results in cost savings of $20,300 for the budgets associated with these programs.
- More than 22,200 pounds of donated livestock has been processed free of charge into top-quality protein, which has been distributed to Food Banks throughout Montana. This contribution amounts to approximately 88,820 meals.
- Over 1,500 pounds of donated livestock has been processed at no charge into top-quality protein and delivered to Veterans Shelters and Veterans Food Banks across Montana. This contribution amounts to cost savings of approximately $10,500 for budgets associated with these programs and equates to 6,000 meals.
- Over 6,300 pounds of donated livestock has been processed at no charge into top-quality protein and delivered to nonprofit organizations across the state, such as Ronald MacDonald House Charities of Eastern Montana. This results in a cost savings of over $44,000 for the budgets associated with these programs.
We are very proud of the achievements of our program and express genuine gratitude to our dedicated team, board members, and donors whose ongoing support allows us to create meaningful change throughout Montana.
