HELENA — For most of next week, Superintendent of Public Instruction Linda McCulloch and
several members of her staff will be traveling central Montana in a big, yellow school bus.

Beginning Monday, McCulloch will kick off her “Yellow School Bus Tour” — traveling to
several schools each month school is in session —with a four-day trip to Harlowton, White
Sulphur Springs, Dillon and Twin Bridges.

“The Yellow School Bus Tour gives my staff and me an opportunity to go out to Montana
schools and communities to hear firsthand from Montanans their hopes and concerns for
public schools,” McCulloch said in a press release Friday.

The 48-passenger bus has been donated for the tour by Treasure State Transit of Helena,
and the drivers will be two members of McCulloch’s staff who also happen to be certified to
drive a school bus, said Madalyn Quinlan, McCulloch’s chief of staff.
McCulloch and several staff members will spend their time on the tour visiting schools, and
some communities will also hold public forums to talk about Montana’s education issues.

During the first leg of the tour, there will be public discussions in Harlowton Monday and
Dillon Wednesday.
“Very exciting things are happening in Montana schools,” McCulloch said. “There is no
better way to learn about them than from the people directly involved in each community.”
