Supercomputer to be unveiled, but why in Butte?

Montana’s latest and greatest bit of computer hardware is due to be unveiled in Butte in just a matter of days.
About to make its grand appearance, some may wonder how Butte got so lucky as to be home to the state’s only supercomputer.
Some may think Butte’s success in landing the supercomputer has to do with geography. After all, the mining city sits at the hub of two major interstates, key rail lines and has air links to major western cities. That helps, but it’s not the key.
