Sidney, Montana thrives at prairie’s edge

Sidney http://www.sidneymt.com/ may be only four miles from the North Dakota line, but its heart is solidly Montanan.

"The attitude here is: ‘This is where Montana begins,’" said Benjamin Clark, executive director of the MonDak Heritage Center in Sidney.

Sidney may be known today for economic ups and downs thanks to gyrating oil prices.

But it has been slower, steadier forces during the town’s history that have kept the community on the map.

As Sidney gears up for its centennial this summer, it’s once again bustling through an oil boom.
