Shortage of Workers Problematic for Billings Employers

That’s the staggering unemployment rate in Billings right now — a significantly lower number than the national average of 5.8 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
There are more job openings than able workers, and it’s a growing challenge for employers. BillingsWorks Workforce Council met Thursday to discuss the shortage of skilled workers in Billings, and how to attack the problem. The group, which is made up of business leaders from healthcare, education, service — and pretty much every job sector, is discussing strategies to attack the problem head on.
