Shortage of Doctors Hurting Rural Montana

Data released this morning by the Associated Press shows that Montana has a much smaller percentage of rural hospitals in danger of closure than the national average.

The health experts we spoke to say that’s only part of the story.

Doctors say several factors contribute to the lack of availability for Montana’s rural areas, including the spread out geography of the state and a lack of new doctors replacing those heading into retirement.
