Shelby, Montana residents: Your input is needed ASAP

The City of Shelby was fortunate to receive funding through the Montana Department of Commerce Main Street Program and Community Development Block Grant Planning Division for the development of a Preservation Plan for our Main Street business district.

Cushing Terrell was the awarded firm to complete the plan. Chelsea Holling is our community’s historic preservation specialist on the project. The goals of the project include researching and assessing our existing conditions of historic buildings in our downtown district, conducting community and stakeholder sessions to gather input about the vision for maintaining and preserving our historic downtown, developing clear, understandable recommendations, reviewing those recommendations with residents and completing a planning document for the benefit of the community.

With limited social gatherings, the City felt it may be best to seek community input through our social media and email correspondence. The following questions are critical in the planning process and we hope you might take a few moments to give us your thoughts.
