Sharing Shack Offers Free Camping Gear to Glacier Park Visitors

This initiative supports outdoor recreation by providing essential equipment at no cost, easing access to Glacier National Park’s wilderness. It also honors local ambassador Mia Totten, whose legacy inspired the project.

Located at 3130 Highway 206, the Sharing Shack operates daily from dawn to dusk. Visitors can borrow and return camping gear, bear spray, and supplies under the simple rule: what you take, you bring back. The program runs entirely on donations and currently has one location, with plans for a second site in East Glacier. Organizers emphasize there is no cost or catch, aiming to reduce barriers for travelers who cannot carry or store bulky gear.

A second Sharing Shack is planned for East Glacier, though no specific opening date is provided.
