Tester announces tourism workshop coming to Bozeman

Senator’s 13th Small Business Opportunity Workshop will be May 17

Senator Jon Tester today announced that his latest Small Business Opportunity Workshop will be held in Bozeman on Friday, May 17.

Tester’s 13th workshop will connect national tourism industry leaders with Montana businesses to expand economic opportunities and create jobs in the Big Sky State. According to the University of Montana’s Institute for Tourism and Recreation Research, visitors to Montana spent more than $3 billion in the state last year.

Tester’s workshop will be held on May 17 in the Strand Union Building’s Ballroom A at Montana State University. The event will feature panel presentations from tourism industry leaders and local businesses.

"Montana is home to some of the best places on earth to enjoy our great outdoors – and those places attract tourists, businesses and jobs," said Tester, a member of the Senate Tourism Caucus. "This workshop will allow Montana businesses and tourism leaders to showcase all that Montana has to offer and figure out more ways to grow Montana’s tourism industry."

Tester’s workshop, which begins at 9 a.m., is free and open to the public. Montanans interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP at tester.senate.gov/rsvp

Tester’s Bozeman workshop builds on the success of his 12 previous small business workshops held across Montana. More than 2,000 Montana companies and individuals have attended the sessions.
