Researchers at the University of Montana Center for Translational Medicine craft vaccine for opioid addiction
July 21, 2019 /
Jay Evans, director of the University of Montana’s Center for Translational Medicine, and Grace Bayley, a Ph.D. candidate, are part of a research team developing vaccine for opioid addiction. The researchers are working toward a vaccine that would prompt the immune system to attack opioids in the bloodstream, preventing them from entering the brain.
Currently, Evans said the group at UM counts about 35 people working on vaccine research. “And we have about 10 openings right now that we’re looking to fill.”
