These days it might mean that you snag the corporate headquarters, which gets you a fancy building and a few C-suite executives, while the bulk of the jobs in manufacturing, marketing, sales, human resources and even high-level design and development remain in Beijing, Bozeman, Boise, Bangalore or some other far-flung and low-cost locale.
