NorthWestern planning $234 million in upgrades to electrical lines – Meetings Planned Across Montana

NorthWestern Energy is planning $234 million in capital expenditures to improve its aging electrical distribution infrastructure, which will increase monthly customer rates by about $6 over seven years, utility officials said Wednesday morning in Great Falls.

The work, which will span 2011 to 2017, includes about $44 million in improvements in the Great Falls area.

"We’re trying to take a very proactive approach to our future," said Curt Pohl, vice president of retail operations.
