North Dakota governor addresses MonDak Energy Alliance. – North Dakota’s got its act together.

North Dakota’s got its act together. From the governor’s office right down to city officials, Montana’s neighbor to the east seems to be doing all it can to develop its energy industry and thrive from it.

After spending the day Tuesday in Williston, N.D., discussing energy related issues like housing and infrastructure needs, North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven http://governor.nd.gov/ addressed the MonDak Energy Alliance in the evening, voicing his approval to continue energy development. He acknowledged the state’s surplus and population (adding 5,000) and business growth has been, in large part, due to the energy industry. He said the cuts in property and income taxes are why, as Hoeven put it, there’s “no structural deficits.”

“I think it is that North Dakota common sense, and it’s that focus we have on economic development,” he told the audience at the Williston International Inn.

He thanked state legislators who have worked on various bills to create a positive business environment for not only the state as a whole but the energy industry as well.
