MontanaPBS announces 24/7 educational, children’s programming in select Montana markets

In preparation for television’s national conversion from analog to digital in February, MontanaPBS has launched new television services in two Montana markets.

On Jan. 5, MontanaPBS launched its new lineup of digital television services for the Missoula/Bitterroot Valley, and Bozeman/Gallatin Valley broadcast areas. Viewers of over-the-air digital television in those two communities now have a suite of three MontanaPBS channels to choose from, including a High Definition PBS schedule, an all new channel of educational, children’s programming, and a new channel providing gavel-to-gavel coverage of the Montana Legislature.

Due to a new feature of digital television called multicasting, MontanaPBS can now make these various services available where they could previously only provide one service.
