Montana Governor’s climate change panel has first meeting

Bullock announced the 29-member council through an executive order in July to prepare the state for climate impacts and develop a plan by June for how Montana will lower greenhouse gas emissions by 2035.

“I have no doubt there will be disagreements,” he told members. “But I also hope you all resist the temptation to retreat just along the old battle lines” and begin to define what consensus may be to move forward together.
