Most of us can remember the days before computers, e-mail, the Internet, cell phones and fax machines. The world has changed tremendously in the last 20 years, and the rate of change is accelerating. People’s expectations have increased, and businesses have been required to change their ways of operating to survive. Businesses have adopted technology as a means of increasing worker productivity and improving customer service delivery.

Montana state government is no different; it must embrace advances in information technology to meet the needs of its customers, the citizens of Montana. The world may have been much simpler 20 or 30 years ago, but there is no going back—we must move forward.

Not only must we must move forward, we must move forward together. State agencies, federal government, local governments, the education community and the private sector must work together to bring efficient, timely and valuable services to the citizens of Montana. Both governmental and private entities must work together to share IT resources to reduce costs and reduce duplication. Together we must find ways to develop and exploit synergistic partnerships.

The Montana Government Information Technology Conference has been developed to enable and foster the sharing of ideas, products, services and experiences. Don’t miss your opportunity to take part in a great annual event, The Montana Government Information Technology Conference.
