Montana educations lead to bioscience jobs – Montana State University Center for Biofilm Engineering
February 20, 2009 /
Rachel Holmen, a 2005 Skyview High graduate, is working on developing antibiotics that treat infections caused by biofilm building up in catheters and other medical devices.
Now a senior at Montana State University in Bozeman, Holmen has a part-time job at MSU’s Center for Biofilm Engineering http://www.erc.montana.edu/.
The center is the oldest, largest and best-known facility researching biofilm, a slime of bacteria that sticks to surfaces, causing everything from dental plaque to infection in human tissue.
