Missoula seeks public input on Reserve Street Safety Action Plan

The Reserve Street Safety Action plan builds on the city’s 2021 community input project, aiming to generate ideas for making the corridor safer for all types of transportation. Menefee stated, “There has been a lot of input related to greater separation for bicyclists, travelers along the corridor. And then more defined pedestrian crossing points, whether those be underpasses or overpasses.”
The plan is expected to take about a year to complete, involving various phases of public engagement. Once finalized, the project will seek federal funding to implement its proposals.
Menefee added, “There is a wide variety of engineering-based solutions for safety that consider all modes of transportation, and they all have tradeoffs and yield compromises for different users.”
