Missoula aviation company gets funding to train low-income workers as mechanics
September 28, 2016 /
Working as an airplane mechanic may not sound like an entry-level job, but new federal money recently awarded to a Missoula company aims to train low-income workers to do just that.
The Montana Idaho Community Development Corp. (MICDC) has received a $769,639 grant to help fund a job creation and training program at Neptune Aviation in Missoula. Neptune creates and operates a fleet of air tankers designed to fight wildfires, and employs more than 100 people.
