Mayor, commission, newcomers emphasize team effort looking to Helena’s new year

A year into his own term, Mayor Wilmot Collins remains Helena’s public face. But when it comes to progress within the city, looking back on that first year, Collins sees his work with the city as a team effort.

“Whatever is a victory for the commission is a victory for all,” Collins said. “If it’s a disappointment, it’s a disappointment for all. But I also want you to know that it’s not just a ‘yes, sir’ and a ‘yes, ma’am’ commission. We will deliberate on issues, and I know sometimes it’s tough. And we disagree sometimes, too.”
