Transportation Note: Participants are encouraged to leave their cars parked at MonTEC, the Campus Inn or Holiday Inn Express Riverside and use the pedestrian bridge to walk to the campus. For non-walkers, a bus will be available to pick you up at any of these three locations at the following times:

Tuesday morning ride to campus: 7:15 (1st run) 7:30 (2nd run)

Tuesday morning ride to campus: 11:15 (1st run) 11:30 (2nd run)

Tuesday evening return to hotel/MonTEC: 6:00 (1st run) 6:15 (2nd run)

Wednesday morning ride to campus: 7:15 (1st run) 7:30 (2nd run)

Wednesday afternoon return to hotel/MonTEC: 12:30 (1st run) 12:45 (2nd run)

We are working on campus parking passes to be available – but it is difficult to find a parking place after 7:30am.

4:15 – 5:00 Explore Current Economic Development Websites (yes, including yours!) How do we better organize this information? Presentation by Senator Jeff Mangen regarding Statewide Web Portal for Economic Development.

5:00 – 5:45: Montana Smart Growth Coalition "Quality Growth Act" Presentation and discussion on legislation that would dramatically effect how our cities and counties grow in the future. Also, let’s strengthen the link with planners and economic developers around the state. Brian Mau, Executive Director of Citizens for a Better Flathead.

8:10 – 9:10 Montana Shared Leadership project and discussion, Sheila Stearns and Dave Gibson. Building a partnership between MEDA and the University System to strengthen economic development in Montana. Invited: Chair of Board of Regents, John Mercer.

9:10 – 10:00 Creative Enterprise Cluster Development. The Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity and the Montana Arts Council are partnering to test economic cluster approaches in Livingston and Great Falls. Information and update provided by Director of Creative Enterprise Clusters, Geoff Sutton and Cinda Holt, Business Development Specialist for the Montana Arts Council.

Rooms have been reserved until September 6th at two locations: Campus Inn, 744 East Broadway, 406.549-5134, $62/night + 7% bed tax (state rate is $55); Holiday Inn Express Riverside, 1021 East Broadway, 549-7600 (no state rate available) $69/night + 7% bed tax. Both hotels are within walking distance of the University Campus.
