Local female STEM workers teach girls about science, engineering

After getting a marble to make it down a slide she engineered herself, Landon Burian’s face lit up.

“Mom, I got the marble down the slide,” she said.

The 9-year-old girl, who splits her time between Girl Scouts and BMX racing, loves building and designing things, said her mom, Kristin Burian. So she brought her daughter to Women in Science day at the Children’s Museum, part of its Women in STEM series.
