Leading by example. Western Montana student leaders gather in Hamilton for training,networking

“Your circumstances should never define you. You should define them.”

That was one of many messages Aaron Davis, a nationally known motivational speaker, sent to students who attended the Western District Student Council Convention held in Hamilton Tuesday.

Known as “The Enthusiastor,” Davis is a regular at high schools and colleges across the country as part of the Jostens Speakers Bureau. On Tuesday, he told more than 100 teenagers – mostly from the Bitterroot valley and Missoula area – they should not take their roles as student leaders lightly.

A student leader should never act one way in school and then take on another personality when he or she encounters peer pressure such as alcohol or drugs, he said.
