Ironwood Manufacturing: Missoula company builds furniture for places all over the US

Ironwood http://www.ironwoodmfg.com/ is an example of how important manufacturing is to the Missoula economy, and how sometimes it often is overlooked because the company ships its products out-of-state rather than having a retail store for local customers.

The company was founded in 1984 by Edward and Carol Knudsen, and now their son Brandon Knudsen is at the helm. The company employs about 25 people year-round, but it hires more workers in the summertime months when most orders come in.
