iPad app targets preschool learning market – Leo’s Pad

Characters that break into song? Check. Adorable pet sidekick? Check. A journey full of adventure and wonder? Check.

Leo’s Pad http://www.kidaptive.com/ has all the hallmarks of a children’s film or television show, from the look and feel of the computer animation to the upbeat characters and story line. Only in this case, it’s been packaged as an educational app for tablet computers.

Developed by Palo Alto startup Kidaptive and making its U.S. premiere this holiday season, the mobile app is designed as an animated children’s series with downloadable "appisodes." Built into it are interactive activities to help preschoolers, its target audience, learn skills such as shapes and colors.
