TechLaunch 2.0 is scheduled for June 29-30, 2005, at the Sun Valley Resort for entrepreneurs in Idaho’s academic and innovation communities.

This event boasts a business competition among eight innovative businesses throughout Idaho. These companies will compete for cash prizes to help launch their company and introduce an innovative product or service.

The forum addresses how to advance and refine business planning, and validate the viability of business concepts. A panel of judges will review business presentations and business plans from the eight companies. The goal of this forum is to help entrepreneurs be better prepared to pitch their idea/business to investors and financial institutions.

Expanding on the success of the 2004 event, TechLaunch 2.0 for the first time will allow students from major Idaho universities, including Boise State University, Idaho State University and Brigham Young University-Idaho to participate in their own parallel competition for scholarships.

TechLaunch 2.0 combines public and private efforts to support and encourage continued growth in science and technology within Idaho, which is one of the fastest growing segments of the state’s economy.

The second in the annual series of Idaho TechLaunches, this forum has invited speakers that include Governor Dirk Kempthorne, Lt. Gov. Jim Risch, Representative Butch Otter and successful entrepreneurs.

TechLaunch 2.0 has been developed by the Idaho TechConnect offices and is sponsored by the Idaho Economic Development Association, the Idaho National Laboratory, and Idaho’s Office of Science & Technology, along with a number of corporate sponsors.

Conference registration is $95 per person.
