Idaho Call center to add 150 jobs

Post Falls – Center Partners has landed a new client that will result in 150 new jobs at its call center here, company officials said Monday.

"It’s a very big name you know well," said company spokesman Don Condit.

He declined to name the new client, but said it is a wireless telephone service provider.

The timing is good for Center Partners, which is based in Fort Collins, Colo. In April, the company announced that it would reduce staff in Idaho and Colorado as a result of the loss of a cable client. AT&T Broadband, one of Center Partner’s large accounts, merged with Comcast Corp., which decided to handle its cable calls in-house.

Condit referred questions about Center Partners’ employment in Kootenai County to Martha Lanaghen, vice president of marketing. She could not be reached for comment Monday.

In an interview last week, however, Lanaghen refused to disclose how many positions at Center Partners were affected by the layoffs. As of early May, Center Partners employed about 900 workers at call centers in Post Falls and Coeur d’Alene.
