MT Dear Friend:

As you know, I have asked my office to facilitate an effort to get Montana’s medical community together to discuss telemedicine issues and formulate a “master plan” for a state-wide telehealth system. As I continue to receive various telehealth funding proposals, I think it is important to bring the medical community together to write a plan for the coordination of telemedicine implementation in Montana. I would also like to discuss electronic medical records (EMRs) and the role they may play in rural health care delivery.

I have decided to hold the event on April 30th at the Burns Telecommunications Center (BTC), in Bozeman, on the Montana State University (MSU) campus. The event will kick off at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 12:30. The first half of the morning will be dedicated to a discussion about telehealth, while the second half of the morning is reserved to discuss EMRs. For those of you who are unable to attend in person, we will teleconference this gathering as well, so hope you can join us via satellite!
