Glacier National Park’s Avalanche Lake discovered anew in podcasts
January 12, 2012 /
Anyone who visits Glacier National Park almost certainly stops by Avalanche Creek.
The Trail of the Cedars, curvaceous Avalanche Gorge and the two-mile amble to Avalanche Lake make it a perfect all-in-one stop for an afternoon backcountry experience. So perfect, one almost wonders what’s left to say about one of Glacier’s most-visited roadside attractions.
"It’s a very popular stop along the Going-to-the-Sun Road," agreed Melissa Sladek of the National Park Service’s Crown of the Continent Research Learning Center in West Glacier. "There’s a lot of interpretation already there, with signs and a ranger-guided nature hike."
