Getting Unstuck: Telecommuting instead of commuting

Charging tolls to relieve congestion is good (Central London is a successful example and you can see how it changed that city’s streetscapes here). Encouraging alternative forms of transportation like biking and walking and buses is good, too.

But you know what might be better than both in the fight to reduce traffic congestion that is sapping our economy and quality of life? The Internet.

At least that’s what John Eger, chair of communications and public policy at San Diego State University and president of the World Foundation for Smart Communities, believes.
