Estimates show one-fifth of Montana doesn’t have access to sufficient internet services, according to a presentation from Christian Piccolo, manager at Summit Consulting.

Piccolo said a preliminary estimate is that Montana needs $600 million to $726 million to provide fiber internet to the entire state, but it is assumed Montana’s share of the federal funds will fall well below that mark.
