Folk Festival cancellation is $8-10 million blow to Butte economy

Butte Folk Fest

Montana Folk Festival organizers estimate the annual event brings in $8 million to $10 million to the Butte economy over a two-week period. That’s a lot of revenue the Mining City will be missing out on in July 2020.

Festival director George Everett announced the cancellation Friday, saying it is due to the ongoing threats posed by the spread of COVID-19.
