Events to honor Boise tech startups on Thursday 5/9/13

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Chouteau and Phillips Counties and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations.

"Everyone knows Boise is a great place to live and raise and family," said Doug Joseph, founder of Locate Express. "Unfortunately, not many people realize that Boise is also a wonderful place to start up a tech company. There’s incredible talent, creativity and spirit generated from startups here. We want to raise awareness within our community and let it be known that you don’t have to come out of Silicon Valley to create great technology."

Boise technology entrepreneurs and workers will gather Thursday for two back-to-back events intended to celebrate Boise startup-success stories.

The first event, Startups and Beers, will last from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Crux, 1022 W. Main St. Matt Rissell, CEO of T-Sheets, will speak. T-Sheets is a local tech company whose growth has recently accelerated with deals with Intuit and Snap-On.
