Educators failing to teach what students need for good jobs

Slowly and steadily, American educators have become more encouraging of disadvantaged students with hidden potential. I have reported on many high school teachers who regularly show young people how to get into college and prepare for great futures.

But just being in college isn’t enough. A new study by the nonprofit Strada Education Network reveals that for many surprising reasons students who have the motivation and intellect to do well are still receiving too little guidance on what courses they need to succeed.
