Does Broadband Access Increase Rural Home Values?

Recent research did not find a measurable housing price premium for Internet-ready homes in two rural Oklahoma counties. Putting a blanket value on rural Internet access is not as easy as it might seem.

Internet connectivity already has an impact of rural home values
Much of the analysis of this report has now been negated as more global companies are now allowing many of their employees to work remotely due to Corona.   They’ve been liberated to live in places other than in major cities.   They’re now more interested in space, recreational activities and a more personally satisfying life.
Key to their decisions and absolutely required will be high speed internet.  Communities that understand this will benefit by having new 6 figure incomes move into their area.   Even a couple of these new residents will have a major impact on the local economy.
The keys are affordable and high speed internet.   Real estate agents will now have to start including available internet services and costs when they offer a home or office.
