Former professor, author, and founder of the Small-town Immigration Clearinghouse, Gordon’s work shows that small-town decline is not inevitable, and that immigration often leads to revitalization.
In your 2015 book, “Village of Immigrants,” you argue that increased immigration to certain small towns can have a profoundly positive impact both on population trends, and on residents new and old. Can you outline the “congeries of forces” which must be combined to produce the best outcomes?
