Destination Missoula; Missoula Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) Event Grant Fund Application Spring Cycle Open

Montana Office of Tourism and Business Development

The spring cycle for the Missoula Tourism Business Improvement District (TBID) Event Grant Fund is upon us!

The purpose of the Missoula TBID Event Grant Fund is to provide funding to new and/or growing events, preferably in non-peak months (October-April) that will provide economic benefit through increased hotel room nights and other spending within the Missoula Community. These funds are made available through the support of the Missoula TBID lodging partners. For every occupied room night, guests are assessed $2.00 that is returned to Missoula to aid in tourism marketing and promotion within the district.

For an event to qualify for a grant, it must meet the following requirements:

  • Event will produce a minimum of 100 NEW room nights (# of nights X # of rooms = # NEW room nights)
  • Applicant has proven ability to generate, track and report hotel room nights and economic impact of the event
  • Applicant is able to provide documentation of dollar for dollar match for the requested grant funds
  • Reaches potential visitors outside of Missoula, preferably 100+ miles
  • Has the potential to increase the number of visitors or to extend the visitors’ stay
  • Economically benefits the Missoula community

The deadline to apply for the spring grant cycle is March 1st and to help encourage applicants, the Missoula TBID created an informational TBID Grant video available at this website: https://destinationmissoula.org/tbid-video. All viewers who apply for a Missoula TBID Grant will receive an extra five points towards their grant application scores.
