Building this partnership has the potential to bring in millions in federal dollars to Montana.

The U.S. Department of Defense has designated Montana State University (MSU) as a Defense Innovation Unit on-ramp hub.

This designation allows MSU and the Defense Department to strengthen their relationship and collaborate with the private sector to drive new ideas and technology for national defense.

MSU is currently a research hot spot with more than $280 million in research expenditures and contracts last year. The Department of Defense is one of the top research funders for the university.
