Costly Montana tax computer shut down

The costly tax computer system that never worked as it was supposed to was finally shut down at the end of the year and its successor is working as planned, state officials said.
The old computer program, called POINTS, cost the state millions before legislative whistle blowers pulled the plug and launched plans for a new system which took a few years to develop.
